Presentation Summary: The need for income through employment is consistently a top priority for people in recovery. What may come as a surprise, though, is the correlation between employment and higher rates of abstinence. The Maryland Department of Labor and Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development have implemented a series of coordinated strategies to create a continuum of care from drug treatment to employment. This session will describe that programming and offer time for attendees to talk through the employment challenges of their patients and how partnership with American Job Centers and other providers might help patients meet their employment goals.
