DeNeese Parker is the 8th Judicial District Court’s Specialty Court Administrator. Ms. Parker’s primary responsibility is to manage all specialty courts for the 8th Judicial District Court in Clark County; Adult Drug Court, Co-Occurring Drug Court, Transitional Age Program, OPEN, Veteran’s Treatment Court, Felony DUI Court, Mental Health Court, Gambling Diversion Treatment Court, Juvenile Drug Court, Family Treatment Drug Court, Re-Entry Court and Law Enforcement Intervention for Mental health and Addiction (LIMA). DeNeese works closely with judges and court administration in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the various court programs. DeNeese develops and monitors budgets for all of the specialty court programs, is responsible for developing informational and statistical reports for presentation to judges, the Board of County Commissioners, and the Nevada State Legislature.
DeNeese Parker was previously the Truancy Diversion Coordinator; this position involved the coordination of over eighty five (85) schools in Clark County.
DeNeese Parker was also a Supervisor and counselor at Choices Group Inc., the treatment provider for Clark County’s Juvenile and Adult Drug Courts, demonstrating her expertise with the Specialty Court Model.
DeNeese has worked with the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ), Council of State Governments Justice Center, and Children and Family Futures, Inc. on data research, collection, and analysis of grant and program outcomes.
DeNeese has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in law, a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. DeNeese is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of Nevada. In the past DeNeese Parker has supervised other counselors and overseen multiple grant funded programs, contracts and budgets.
