Belinda has over 30 years of professional experience in psychiatry and SUD treatment policy, administration, and direct care services. In her work with SAMHSA/CSAT, she is currently responsible for planning and developing resources to support implementation and use of MOUD, providing technical assistance, and promoting knowledge development / dissemination, and policy development / implementation. Her prior work experience had been as Administrator of an Outpatient Mental Health and a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program and she had worked for over 23 years with NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), with 15 of those years serving as the NY State Opioid Treatment Authority (SOTA).
In 2013, Belinda was recognized by the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence with their Nyswander/Dole “Marie” award, among other awards and accolades for her work in the field of opioid use disorder treatment, as well as in rehabilitation, vocational and employment services for those with behavioral health conditions. Belinda also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Hunter College, CUNY since 2015, where she teaches graduate counseling students on SUD Counseling, Family Therapy, Group Counseling and Administrative/Clinical Supervision.
