Kathy Eggert, PhD, LCSW, Director of the APT Foundation Legion Clinic possesses more than three decades of experience as a social worker specializing in treating people with substance use and mental health disorders. Eggert, a long-term employee of the APT Foundation, serves as their director of an inner-city methadone maintenance program. During her career, Eggert has held many leadership roles, including the launching director of the APT Foundation’s Access Center, one of the first to provide low-barrier same-day admission to the OTPs in the country.
As a practitioner-scholar, her research interests include the intersection of regulatory structures, culture, stigma, and practice in methadone maintenance programs. She has collaborated in research examining the impact of Xylazine on the drug supply, homelessness, and harm reduction.
Eggert holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Connecticut College, a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Change, and a PhD in Leadership and Change from Antioch University.
