Dr. Filippo Della Rocca, MD and Psychiatrist, works as a full-time doctor at the “La Spezia” Drug Addiction Service - Department of Psychiatry and Addictions, Section of Addiction (Local Health Unit-5, Liguria NHS, La Spezia, Italy, EU). His daily work focuses mainly on the clinical and therapeutic management of patients suffering from addiction and dual disorders, treated both in inpatient and outpatient settings. He is member of “V.P. Dole Unit” group at the University of Pisa, board member of the Italian section of WADD, and an international reference of the US Stop Stigma Now (SSN) group.
In the last year, he completed a placement as a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry at the Radboudumc, in Nijmegen, The Netherlands (June - October 2022). During his stay, he actively collaborated in the development of an experimental scientific project dealing with Dual Disorder and its relationship to stress sensitivity, mainly from a biological point of view (cortisol concentrations in hair).
He completed the Residency Program at the School of Psychiatry of Pisa in November 2022, 14th - postgraduate mark: 110/110. As a final research project, he developed an original experimental thesis entitled 'From harm reduction to patient-tailored therapy in Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT): The role of psychopathology, craving behavioral covariates, and stress response in monitoring patients under OAT'.
In recent years, he has contributed to more than 30 scientific articles published in international journals and has participated in international conferences on this topic (WADD, AATOD, Europad, ISAM), both as a participant and speaker.
