Dr. Hand is an Associate Professor at Jefferson College of Nursing and Associate Director of Jefferson's Maternal Addiction Treatment, Education, and Research Center. His leadership roles include strategic planning and development for care management and pharmacological treatments for substance use disorders (SUDs). He conducts research and mentors students, residents and fellows on pharmacological treatment for SUDs among pregnant and parenting people, neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, and tobacco and polysubstance use. Dr. Hand received his PhD in Applied Experimental Psychology at Central Michigan University and postdoctoral training at the University of Vermont.
