Dr. Mariely Fernandez is the Chief Medical Officer and pediatrician at the Center for Comprehensive Health Practice (CCHP) in East Harlem, New York. She is a board-certified pediatrician and addiction medicine physician who has practiced community medicine for over 16 years and has worked with multiple disciplines to provide high-quality, integrated, family-focused care to patients since 2007. She currently oversees the Center’s Primary Care, Methadone Maintenance Treatment and Buprenorphine Treatment Programs and has worked closely with many young mothers, caregivers and pregnant persons, placing an emphasis on preventive medicine to ensure the well-being and healthy development of children and their families. Last year, Dr. Fernandez was the recipient of the 2022 AMWA (American Medical Women's Association) INSPIRE Award, which recognizes accomplished women physicians who inspire others because of their dedication to health care, compassion for patients, leadership, advocacy efforts, or community service. This year, she was awarded the 2023 Trusted Messenger Award from Reach Out and Read of Greater New York which recognizes someone that creates supportive, lasting relationships with children and their parents/caregivers. Dr. Fernandez is dedicated to providing accessible, integrated care to the children and families of the East Harlem and greater New York area for many years to come.
