Dr. Michael Kidorf is a clinical psychologist and and Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is also Associate Director of the Addiction Treatment Services, a large and dynamic community-based program that provides evidence-based treatment for people with opioid use and other substance use disorders. This program was granted the Ernest A Codman Award by the Joint Commission, the Service and Science Award from SAMHSA, and endorsed by both organizations as a “gold standard” for medication-assisted treatment in the United States. Dr. Kidorf’s clinical research, funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse, is focused on development of evidence-based models of care that can be easily incorporated within routine clinical settings. Most recently, his research is directed toward helping people with substance use disorder activate and mobilize drug-free family and friends to support risk-reduction and recovery efforts.
