Presentation Summary: Women with OUD are less likely than their peers to receive preventative health care services. They are less likely to have access to family planning services. Providers at the OTP have a unique opportunity to address these unmet needs, particularly if the providers have medical training in women's health. Between approximately 9/2022 and 9/2023, approximately 30 women completed cervical cancer screening (pap smears) with the OTP medical provider, and family planning services including placement of LARC (long acting reversible contraception) were offered. This poster presentation will provide basic information about how these services were implemented.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants will:
List the items that might be included in an integrated "Well Woman" care model at the OTP (from the patient perspective)
Define the clinical components needed in order to implement a "Well Woman" program (from the clinic perspective)
Describe how caring for the whole person in an integrated model ("More than just medicine") can include services not traditionally provided at an OTP
