Presentation Summary: This work proposes new metrics for client retention in methadone maintenance treatment and explores factors related to retention. Using 15 years of data from a chain of OTPs in Washington state, we calculate and visualize previously proposed retention metrics from client, facility, and public health perspectives and introduce new metrics. Additionally, we develop statistical models correlating client retention with socioeconomic, geographic, and dosage related factors. This work will be of interest to OTPs and will offer insights into evaluating program success, assessing intervention effectiveness, and retaining clients in methadone maintenance treatment.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants will:
Assess retention rates at OTPs in a variety of formats
Identify factors related to methadone maintenance retention and success
Offer methadone maintenance clients better counseling about acclimating to treatment regiments
