Presentation Summary: Research shows how community-based programs enhance access to care, retention rates, reduce overdose deaths, foster community integration, and ensure sustainability. Treatment in Motion (TIM) is a community-based program focused on rapid-access to OTP services. Centered around the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU), TIM delivers Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) directly to those in need. TIM boasts an experienced team, enhancing MOUD access while focusing on community integration. The workshop explores TIM's 24-year journey, service models, partnerships, licensing, data insights, and sustainability strategies. It underscores how community-based programs can enhance patient care and substance use disorder treatment practices.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will:
  • Describe the core components of the Treatment in Motion (TIM) program, including the role of the Mobile Medication Unit (MMU) and its impact on improving access to Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).
  • Articulate the research-supported benefits of community-based behavioral health programs, as demonstrated by TIM, including improved access to care, enhanced retention rates, and their role in reducing overdose deaths.
